Site not loading without www as prefix

Hi,

I am aware this is a CNAME issue, but I am not sure how to set up the records so that example.com points to www.example.com, as I want to do. What exactly do I put in the host, and in the points to fields?

Additionally, when I type in example.com, I am getting the following error: server IP address could not be found. This may have to do with me removing the A record "@ to Parked"

Thanks in advance 🙂

A record-

Host: @

Points to: (hosting IP address)

CNAME record-

Host: www

Points to: @

The @ symbol represents the domain in the DNS manager.  Above is the standard setup which is most common, the CNAME basically says to send traffic for www.yourdomain.com to the same place that it's setup to send traffic for yourdomain.com with the A record.
