Nameservers and IP Addresses

I have bought a domain from GoDaddy. I have a hosting on Hosting24.com

When I am updating the nameservers, the IP Address column is not showing. Without IP Address it will not work.

How can I resolve that?

Re: Nameservers and IP Addresses

(Edit: if you're using existing nameservers provided by your host...)

You don't need to put in the IP addresses, just the nameservers (min of 2).  Then your hosting provider would be in control of your DNS.

Re: Nameservers and IP Addresses

Ahh, that is normally true. However, if they are using their own domain's nameservers they would need to add glue records, which would be located under "Host Names" on the bottom of the DNS Management page.

For example, if nate.com wanted to use the nameservers ns1.nate.com and ns2.nate.com DNS would not resolve without glue records stating what IP address to find the ns1 and ns2 subdomains!
